The Famous "Texas Inn" - Lynchburg, Virginia

Tommy Burger, $6.99
I love places like this!   Truly a burger joint, they have 15 bar stools looking at the kitchen and bar. Founded in 1935 and serving burgers, dogs and chili, the Texas Inn is an institution and one of the landmarks on the burger trail.  Ther chili recipe was purchased from a chef in Texas for $5 in 1927!

Being a big fan of the Tommy's style burger, I strayed from the classic Cheesy Western (my wife and son got that) and ordered a Tommy Burger.  Double meet, double chesse, double chili and pickles.  It was really simple and really good, and only $6.99!

I ate some of the bowl of chili and it was good, but not quite as tasty as my burger.

The Cheesy Western is a very unique burger and I am usually a big fan of eggs on burgers, but this was a style that I had never seen or tasted.  The relish and egg are a bit more prominant than the burger patty.  It was very tasty and unique but not a burger I would order time and time again.
